Calgary, Alberta — Western Canada Hub
The command centre for all our Western Canada operations. Serving clients across Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
Mikhaiel Logistics operates a distribution centre in Calgary, Alberta — the command centre for all our Western Canada operations. From this facility, we serve clients across Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba with the same enterprise-grade warehousing and fulfillment capabilities that power our Eastern Canada network.
Facility Overview
The Calgary facility delivers flexible warehouse space configured for multi-client operations. The building supports racked storage, block-stack floor storage, and dedicated pick-and-pack zones, with the layout designed to handle both pallet-level distribution and individual unit fulfillment.
Dock capacity supports high-frequency inbound and outbound operations, with enough receiving and shipping doors to manage multiple client programs simultaneously. Staging areas are organized to prevent co-mingling between programs, and the WMS tracks every movement from dock to rack to outbound trailer.
Cross-trained staff at the Calgary facility can shift between tasks as demand dictates — moving from receiving to pick-and-pack to loading depending on the day's priorities. That flexibility is critical for Western Canada operations, where seasonal demand swings can be dramatic (think Q4 retail surges, spring construction seasons, and agricultural cycles).

Geographic Advantages
Calgary is Western Canada's logistics nexus. The city sits at the junction of the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1) and major north-south corridors, placing it within efficient trucking distance of every major Western Canadian market.
Reach from Calgary
- Edmonton — 3 hours north via Highway 2. Alberta's second-largest market plus gateway to Northern Alberta's resource economy.
- Vancouver / Lower Mainland — 10–12 hours west via Highway 1 through the Rockies, or 2-day LTL transit. BC's 2.5 million+ population concentration.
- Saskatoon / Regina — 5–7 hours east. Covers Saskatchewan's retail and agricultural distribution needs.
- Winnipeg — 13 hours east. Manitoba hub and gateway to Central Canada.
- US Border (Montana / Idaho) — 2.5 hours south. Access to the CANAMEX corridor for cross-border freight into the Western US.
Key Infrastructure
- Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 1) — East-west arterial connecting Calgary to Vancouver and Eastern Canada.
- Highway 2 (QEII) — Alberta's busiest highway, connecting Calgary and Edmonton. Highest truck traffic volume in the province.
- CP Rail / CN Rail — Calgary is a Class 1 rail hub. Intermodal terminals serve both Canadian Pacific and Canadian National.
- Calgary International Airport — For time-sensitive air freight and expedited shipments.
- Stoney Trail Ring Road — Provides rapid access around the city to industrial areas and highway interchanges.

Western Canada Market Context
Managing Western Canadian distribution from a single Toronto-area warehouse is a common and costly mistake. Transit times to BC and Alberta from the GTA typically run 4–6 business days by ground, and freight costs are significantly higher than regional distribution from a Calgary base.
Mikhaiel Logistics established the Calgary facility specifically to eliminate that gap. Clients who previously shipped everything from Ontario now stage Western Canadian inventory in Calgary, cutting transit times in half and reducing per-shipment freight costs. For clients with national distribution programs, Calgary and Belleville together provide coast-to-coast coverage without the cost penalties of cross-country shipping.
